- Home Sustainability Assessment - Certificate IV (CPP41110)
Owned and operated by Paul Kearney & Associates, we specialise in providing pathways for those who wish to obtain formal qualifications within the Building and Construction Industry as well as Home Energy Rating, Home Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Assessments.
This course gives students a nationally recognised qualification. Upon successful completion, Assessors are able to provide home owners with assessments on their usage and emissions, and give advice on how to improve their home sustainability in the crucial areas of Energy, Thermal Performance, Waste and Water.
Join this new industry in environmental sustainability and gain this nationally recognised qualification. There is an expected growth in the area of Sustainability Assessment due to government initiatives and the increasing community concern about domestic energy, water usage, emissions levels and the new building energy rating disclosures required of property owners prior to sale and lease.
Are you interested in sustainable living practices and the environment? Home sustainability assessors conduct assessments and provide advice on how to improve the efficiency of heating and cooling, energy use, water use, and waste generation and management in homes.
Individuals holding CPP41110 Certificate IV in Home Sustainability Assessment may work alone or as part of a team and would typically conduct home sustainability assessments and provide advice on a range of household energy and water use and management issues, depending on their area of expertise.
Potential users of this qualification include home sustainability assessors, enterprises, government agencies and community organisations employing home sustainability assessors, and organisations funding home sustainability programs.

ENERGY RATING SCHEME
To ensure that ratings produced for regulatory purpose are completed to a high quality, a training program has been developed and successful candidates can be awarded the qualification Building Thermal Performance Assessment (Residential). This qualification is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, and all suitable registered training authorities are able to train and test candidates. Interested registered training authorities should contact the NatHERS National Administrator.
Conformance to codes of professional practice and/or additional qualifications may be needed to be accredited as a competent assessor in some jurisdictions. The arrangements may depend on the software package selected and the requirements of the local building authority. Many building regulation authorities accept ratings only from formally accredited assessors recognised by NatHERS.
Solar Logic offers a number of courses for those interested in using the BERS Pro software to assess the thermal performance of buildings. These include a 4 day basic course as well as refresher and advanced courses.
Our trainers teach the use of the BERS Pro software within the Short Course in Building Thermal Performance Assessment (Residential). This course, which has been accredited for use throughout Australia, is mandatory for those wishing to submit thermal assessments using thermal simulation software under the BCA.
FirstRate5 one of three software packages in Australia to be accredited with the NatHERS protocol for National regulatory compliance which is administered by the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. The software tool generates ratings based on the NatHERS 0-10 Star scale for homes with 6 Stars being the current regulatory requirement for new homes, major renovations and extensions.

Australian Forestry Standards
Why Choose The Australian Standards for Forest Management and Chain of Custody?
Standards contribute to the protection of human beings, animals, property, forests and the environment against hazards of all kinds, ensure inter-changeability and inter-operability, and facilitate communication by means of common terminology.
PEFC Chain of Custody certification is based on best practice guidelines for certification. It uses globally implemented ISO guidelines to ensure independence, transparency and impartiality of the certification process.
The Environmental Certification Scheme (ECS) is an environmental labeling scheme for textile floor coverings. It is an extension of the internationally recognised Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS). Certified products must comply with a range of performance criteria and have a current ACCS grading.
