RENOVATE AND BUILD GREEN DIRECTORY LISTING/ADVERTISING AGREEMENT

By submitting your application (Application) for a listing (Directory Listing) on the Renovate and Build Green Website www.renovateandbuildgreen.com.au (Website), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

 

Term: This Agreement commences on the date you submit your Application.  This Agreement ends on the earlier of (a) the date it is terminated in accordance with its terms  (b) if we notify you that your Application is not accepted, the date of that notice.

Your Application: We will review your Application and we may decide to accept or reject your Application, with or without reason, in our sole discretion.  If we approve your Application, we will publish your Directory Listing on our website and email you a  confirmation.

Advertisements:  We may offer you the opportunity to place advertisements (Advertisements) on the Website.  If so, we will provide you with details of additional terms and conditions relating to Advertisements.

Payment: We are under no obligation to publish your Directory Listing on the Website until your payment is successfully processed. Fees for your Directory Listing will be purchased using a secure PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to complete the transaction). We may, in our sole discretion, accept other methods of payment by agreement in writing with you.

Renewal: We will notify you, when your Directory Listing is due to expire (Renewal Notice).  If you wish to renew your Directory Listing, you will need to follow the steps provided in the Renewal Notice.

Your warranties: You warrant that during the term of this Agreement (a) you will meet the Green Criteria published on our Website and (b) any materials and/or information you publish on the Website are true and correct and comply with all laws and regulations, including without limitation, the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the Australian Consumer Law.

Directory Listing: You acknowledge that your Directory Listing is in the public domain and that we are not in any way responsible for the manner in which third parties use the information contained in your Directory Listing.  You consent to receiving communications from us and any third parties in connection with your Directory Listing. 

Website Content: You acknowledge that we own all intellectual property rights in the Website and nothing in this Agreement transfers any rights to you.  You may not use any of the material published on the Website, or any of our registered or unregistered trade marks in the course of promoting your business, without our prior written consent.

Website Changes: We may change the Website, including the format and design at any time and will use reasonable endeavours to provide you advance notice of any material changes.  If we make material changes, you are entitled to terminate this Agreement on 7 days written notice.  If you do not provide such notice, you will be deemed to accept the changes.

Website Terms and Privacy Policy:  These terms govern the provision of a Directory Listing.  In addition, you acknowledge that your use of the Website is governed by the Website Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy published on the Website.  You agree that you have read and understand our Privacy Policy, you will comply with it and you agree to our use of any personal information you provide to us in accordance with the Privacy Policy.  You agree that you have read and understand our Website Terms and Conditions.

Liability:  To the extent that the law permits, our liability to you for breach of contract, or in tort, or for any other common law or statutory cause of action arising out of this Agreement is limited to $200.00.  Any liability to you is reduced proportionally to the extent that you contribute to that loss or damage.

Exclusions: To the extent the law permits, we exclude all conditions and warranties relating to the Website and Directory Listing and we do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted or error free.  If the law implies warranties or conditions into this Agreement nothing in this Agreement operates to exclude them.  To the extent the law permits, our liability to you for breach of any implied warranty or condition is limited at our option to (a) in the case of goods re-supply of the goods and (b) in the case of services, re-supply of the services.

Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any expense, cost, loss or damage that we may suffer or incur as a result of or in connection with your use of or conduct in connection with the Website or this Agreement, including any breach of a warranty or any other term of this Agreement by you.

Termination:  Without limiting any of our rights or remedies, if you breach any warranty or any other term of this Agreement, we may immediately (a) remove your Directory Listing and/or Advertisement from the Website and (b) terminate this Agreement.

Severability: If a term of this Agreement is or becomes invalid or unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the remainder of the Agreement will not be affected.

Governing law: This agreement is governed by the laws in force in New South Wales, Australia and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that place.

Amendments: We may change the terms of this Agreement by providing reasonable notice on the Website.  You are entitled to terminate this Agreement with 7 days written notice if you do not agree.  If you do not provide notice you will be deemed to accept the changes.

Survival: Notwithstanding expiration or termination of this Agreement, rights and remedies accruing prior to termination and provisions that by their nature survive, will survive termination or expiration.

 

GREEN LISTING CRITERIA

In order to list your business, your business must be considered green. Below are some guidelines in order to assist you. 

If you do not met our criteria, and feel that you are  green / environmentally conscious you are still able to List Your Business, however we will contact you to confirm before turning your listing live. If you have paid and we reject your business a full refund will be issued.

 

Architects & Designers

It is preferable that architects and designers are members of the Green Building Council, are continually participating in green / sustainable training and that they engage the services of other green certified trades.

For architects and designers, their designs must include at least three of the following:

• Protection of the natural landscape;
• Passive solar efficient design;
• Grey water and water saving systems; and 
• Include the use of sustainable materials, recycled, green certified products and services.
• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;

• Architects and designers are able to provide an Energy Rating using a rating scheme such as NatHERS or First Rate:

 


Builders and Contractors

It is preferable that licensed builders and contractors are members of the Green Building Council and have a green accreditation from at least one of the following:
• HIA GreenSmart Accredited;
• Master Builders Green Living Accredited.

Builders and contractors must comply with at least three of the following:

Include the use of sustainable materials, recycled, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades;
 


Carpenters and Cabinet Makers

Please note that it is preferable that licensed carpenters and cabinet makers are HIA GreenSmart Accredited or Master Builders Green Living Accredited.

Carpenters and/or cabinet makers must comply with at least three of the following:

Include the use of sustainable materials, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades.
 



Electricians

Licensed electricians must have a green accreditation from at least one of the following:
• EcoSmart Electricians – NECA
• Global Green Electricians;
• Electrical Communications Associations - ECA;
Clean Energy Council.

Electricians must also be able to provide consumers with up-to-date information regarding energy efficient products and appliances and advise on the latest technology on renewable energy.

 


Landscape Architects and Designers

It is preferable that landscape architects and designers are  Environmentally Certified Landscape Industry Professionals (ECLIPs).

Landscapers and designers must comply with at least three of the following:

• Specialisation in sustainable landscape design, including water conservation efficiency and native Australian species selection;
• Provision of assistance with sustainable permaculture landscapes and irrigation systems;
• Specialisation in native Australian plants, sustainable permaculture, ecosystem regeneration and horticulture;
• Use of fertilisers made from green waste products, natural products that are non-toxic to the environment.
• Use of  Australian Forestry Standard or Forest Stewardship Council certified timber, reclaimed or recycled timber;
• Use of sustainable materials and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades;
 

 

Landscape Suppliers

Landscape suppliers must comply with at least two of the following:

• Sale of fertilisers that are made from green waste products, natural products, pest species that are non-toxic to the environment ;
• Specialisation in Australian native plants;
• Stock more than 70% Australian native plants;
• Sale of seeds that are Certified Organic seeds and seeds of Australian native plants; and
• Supply of sustainable materials and services.



Painters

Licenced painters must be  GreenPainters Accredited  and comply with at least three of the following:

Painters must comply with at least three of the following:

• Use paints that meet the Good Environmental Choice Standard for Architectural Coatings with low or no off-gassing of VOCs ;
• Use products made from clay or plant-based;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of non-toxic paint removal or surface preparation products;
• Use of sustainable materials and services;
• Environmentally cleaning and disposal of used paints and brushes.
• Engage the services of other green certified trades;



 Plumbers

It is preferable that plumbers must have an accreditation from at least one of the following:
• EnviroPlumbers;
• Eco Smart Plumber;
GreenPlumbers;

Plumbers must also be able to:

• Provide consumers with up-to-date information regarding water saving and efficient appliances and services.
• Install Grey Water systems and rainwater harvesting products;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades;



Sustainability Assessors

All qualified sustainability assessors are acceptable.
And that they engage the services of other green certified trades and services.


 

Bricks

Bricklayers, suppliers, manufacturers and retailers must comply with the following:

• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades;

• Sale, laying or manufacture of any of the following bricks listed in the table below.

BRICK TYPE DESCRIPTION:

New -  Manufactured from 50% recycled material
Fly Ash Bricks - made from waste material from coal fired power plants
• SaleRecycled Sourced from demolition sites
Mud/Earth - not sourced from high conservation value mud areas and do not contain endangered species or sub-species of invertebrates

 

 


Compost, Mulch and Fertilisers

Manufacturers, suppliers and users of compost, mulch and fertilisers must comply with at least three of the following:

• Use of organic composts and fertilisers that have been certified by an accredited organic certifying body;
• Use of fertilisers that are made from green waste products, natural products, pest species that are non-toxic to the environment; and
• Use of worm farms from any worm farm provider.
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 



Concrete and Cement

Concrete and cement products must comply with at least two of the following:

• Manufactured from waste such as fly-ash and crushed concrete;
• Sourced from reclaimed concrete from demolition sites;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades.
 


Decking

Decking must comply with at least 3 following:

• Made from products manufactured using recycled content;
• Made from recycled or reclaimed products from demolition sites;
Include the use of sustainable materials, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades;
 

 


Renewable Energy Systems

All renewable energy systems are acceptable.

 

 

Fences

All manufactures, installers and retailers of fences must comply with at least three of the following:

• Production, use or sale of fences manufactured from recycled materials;
Include the use of sustainable materials, recucled, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 


Flooring

All manufactures, installers and retailers of floors must comply with at least three of the following:

• Flooring must be manufactured from recycled material;
• Flooring must be manufactured from raw or Certified Organic natural fibres;
• Use of Australian Hardwood sourced from sustainable managed forests;
• Use of sustainable alternatives, such as plantation sourced sourced bamboo or cork;
Include the use of sustainable materials, recycled, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 

Glass and Glazing

Manufacturers, suppliers, installers and users of glass and glazing must comply with at least three of the following:

• Use of reclaimed or recycled glass from demolition sites;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of products that meet a WERS standard of a minimum of three stars;
• Use of glazing that has a low emittance coating; and
• Use of glass products that provide an energy efficiency standard above that of the current standard industry products using double-glazing, film and seals;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 

 

 

Heating and Cooling

All appliances and systems must comply with the following:

• Provision of a heating/cooling solution that is more energy efficient than current standard industry products;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 


Insulation

It is preferable that insulation manufactures, installers and retailers comply with the following:

• Insulation must be manufactured from products that can be recycled;
• Insulation must be manufactured using recycled material;
• Insulation must be manufactured using reduced levels of toxins, low or no off-gassing from VOCs ;
• Insulation must not be a health risk to handle;
• Insulation must be recyclable;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 



Kit Homes

It is preferable that kit homes comply with the following:

• Must not contain timber sourced from high conservation valued areas of native forests in Australia or overseas;
• Must be energy efficient under First Rate or NatHERS ;
• Must utilise a building and construction process that protects the natural landscape;
• Engage passive solar design and use sustainable materials and water and energy saving systems;
Include the use of sustainable materials, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades;
 

 

 

 Kitchen Materials

Kitchen suppliers, manufactures, retailers and installers must comply with at least three of following:


• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• Water appliances must have a minimum WELS rating of four stars;
• Use of appliances that have a minimum of four-star rating accredited by the Government’s Energy Labelling Scheme;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier
• Use of sustainable materials such as polished granite, stainless steel, brickwork and glass.
• Manufactured from recycled material;
Include the use of sustainable materials, green certified products and services;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;
• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades.




 Lighting

Lighting service providers must comply with the following:

• Use of high-energy efficient florescent globes or LED lights;
• Consultation on or installation of high-energy efficient lighting units/systems; and
• Use of lighting systems which are 100% powered photovoltaic;
• Engage the services of green certified trades.

 

 


Paints and Finishes

Paints and finishes must comply with the following:

• Products must be certified by Good Environment Choice Australia or Ecospecifier ;
• Use of natural paints (clay or plant-based);
• Products must be energy star rated;
• Use of low or no off-gassing of VOCs; and
• Insulating paints must assist in deflecting heat from a surface therefore increasing a building’s energy efficiency.

 

 

Paving and Stones

Paving and stone suppliers, manufactures, retailers and installers must comply with the following:

• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier
• Use of reclaimed or recycled materials from demolition sites;
• Use or manufacture of pavers that are made from recycled or reclaimed products; 
• Provision of a permeable paving solution minimising surface rainfall runoff by allowing rainwater to filter through paving to ground water;
• Use or manufacture of stones from clay or plant-based products; and
• Stone products must have low or no off-gassing of VOCs;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 


Pest Control

Pest control manufactures, suppliers and contractors must comply with the following:

• Use of products and treatments that are manufactured from natural chemicals and that are biodegradable; 
• Provision of a physical barrier;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia or Ecospecifier;
• Use of Certified Organic pest control products; and
• Use of natural Pyrethrum (dried plant) products.

 


Plumbing Products

Plumbing products must comply with the following:

• Toilet average water consumption must not exceed 5.5 litres per flush;
• Dual flush function must have a maximum capacity of six litres;
• Use of composting toilets;
• Use of a waterless urinal system;
• Use of worm septic systems;
• Shower heads must have a minimum WELS four star rating;
• Use of fittings that are not eligible for a WELS rating must directly contribute to water efficiency and indicate significant water saving compared to current standard industry products;
• Tap must have an aerator or flow restrictor;
•  Grey Water systems all components, manufacturers and retailers are acceptable;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia or Ecospecifier;
• Water tank all suppliers, retailers, manufacturers and installers are acceptable;
• Wastewater recycling and sewerage treatment systems all suppliers, retailers, manufacturers and installers are acceptable;
• Guttering use of leaf barriers; and
• Use of rainwater harvesting products, including roof guttering collection systems;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 


Reclaimed Building Products

All suppliers and retailers must comply with the following:


• Products must be reclaimed or recycled building products from demolition sites; and
• Products must be second-hand.

 


Roofing

Manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and contractors must comply with the following:

• Use of products that are reclaimed or recycled from demolition sites;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of products manufactured with recycled material from natural products, such as stone, fibre or other materials that have environmental benefits (grass roofs, guttering, rainwater harvesting etc).
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 

Solar

All products, manufacturers, suppliers and installers of solar heating, panels and hot water are acceptable.

 


Straw Bale

All straw bale suppliers, manufacturers and installers must comply with the following:

• Provision of consulting services with regards to the use of straw bales in the building industry; and
• Sale of straw bales for the purpose of building;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 



Tiles

Suppliers, retailers, manufacturers and tilers must comply with the following:

• Tiles must be manufactured from recycled material;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia or Ecospecifier;
• Use of reclaimed or recycled tiles from demolition sites;
• Tiles must be manufactured from clay or shale; and
• Use of tiles where the thermal performance is enhanced, therefore a reduction in the need for artificial heating or cooling.
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 


Timber

Timber suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and installers must comply with the following:

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of reclaimed or recycled timber from demolition sites; and
• Use of wood products that have been produced from 100% renewable and sustainable plantations;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 

 

Walls, Panels, Boards and Cladding

Manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and installers must comply with the following:

• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia or Ecospecifier;
• Use and manufacture of products made using  recycled materials;
• Use and manufacture of products made from natural fibres;
• Use of reclaimed or recycled materials from demolition sites;
• Low or no off-gassing of VOCs
• Use of sustainable timber;
• Use of sustainable bricks; and
• Use of sustainable paints and finishes;
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 



Waste and Recycling

The use of all waste consultants and managers are acceptable.

 


Waste systems 

Waste systems must comply with the following:

• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of composting toilet and worm septic systems;
• Use of waterless urinal systems; and
• Use of non-toxic waste treatment and treatment products.

 


Recyclers and salvage yards 

Recyclers and salvage yards must comply with at least one the following:

• Use of recycling services where waste is recycled into usable products; and
• Sale of products that are reclaimed, recycled or second hand.




Water Systems

The following are all acceptable:

• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia or Ecospecifier;
• Solar heating products or systems that increase the energy efficiency ;
• Systems and products that significantly increase water efficiency and conservation from collection to distribution;
• Grey water systems; and
• Rainwater collecting products, including roof guttering systems and rainwater tanks.
• Engage the services of other green certified trades.

 



Water Tanks

All manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and installers of water tanks are acceptable.
Engage the services of other green certified trades.


 

Windows and Doors

Windows and doors must comply with the following:

• Windows or doors that have a WERS of a minimum of three stars;

• Contain insulating and heat transfer reducing properties;
Include the use of sustainable materials, green certified products and services;
• Use of products that are certified with the Good Environmental Choice Australia and Ecospecifier;
• Use of low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)  emission paints and finishes;

• Promotion of Australian Forestry StandardForest Stewardship Council certified, reclaimed or recycled timber or bamboo;
• No use of timbers sourced from high conservation valued or old growth areas;

• Provision of recycling facilities for onsite production materials;
Have a target recycle rate of 80%;

• Engage the services of other green certified trades;
